Yeah, these aren’t just for corporate peeps anymore. Brand guidelines are a very important element to creating a consistent culture within your brand and it’s audience… no matter how big or small.  What does that mean? It means that whether people are checking out your Facebook page, your website, your business card or whatever other marketing platforms you have, they KNOW it’s you… because it feels like you, and that’s valuable stuff.

This can be accomplished visually with brand colors, textures, fonts and sizes, they way your logo and tagline interact and the way your copy reads, among other things depending on your unique business. The items that affect how these “things” translate to your audience are your vision statement, understanding the essence of your company and how that parallels with your audience sector and perhaps creating a persona for your company with the help of archetype association.

There’s no template for brand guidelines in my book, but one thing is for sure… it should be thorough and well thought out for any and ever way your audience sees your brand.
